DRK Niederrhein, one of Germany's leading personal emergency response service providers, has officially launched a new Cloud Monitoring System (CMS) at its emergency call centre. The system, developed by Skyresponse and brought to the German market by TeleAlarm, makes DRK Niederrhein the first organisation in Germany to go live with this cloud-based monitoring solution.
The launch marks a significant step in the digitalisation of personal emergency response services in Germany, and a milestone for Skyresponse's continued expansion across Europe.
A platform built for growing demand
Personal emergency response services across Europe are facing increasing pressure. As more people rely on alarm systems to live safely and independently at home, monitoring centres need infrastructure that can handle growing call volumes without compromising on reliability or response quality.
The Skyresponse-powered CMS addresses that directly. Hosted on AWS and built on open APIs, it gives DRK Niederrhein a platform that:
- Integrates with a wide range of alarm devices, sensors and existing systems
- Operates without dependency on a single hardware vendor
- Scales as call volumes and operational needs grow
- Allows operators to manage emergency calls securely from any location
That last point has immediate practical value. For on-call teams and overnight operations, location-independent access creates flexibility that simply wasn't possible with on-premise systems.

The implementation was the result of close collaboration between DRK Niederrhein, TeleAlarm and Skyresponse. "One of the key success factors of this project was the close collaboration between everyone involved. Together, we developed a solution that not only delivers technically but also meets the practical requirements of day-to-day operations," said Leon Liebl, a member of the CMS implementation project team.
