"The fact that you can specialise and focus on things that are interesting is fun and developing. It makes you want to go to work because everyone matters. You get to work with new and exciting stuff since the platform is evolving all the time.
What is your background? How did you become the professional you are today?
I have been interested in technology since I was little and always known that this is something I want to work with. I studied Electricity, Automation and IT in the university. It was a broad education where you got to get the basics in every field. I have so far been working on site in the hospital IT section and at a large food producer where a lot of the work also has been physical on-site. This is my first job where I stay at one office day to day.
How did your journey with Skyresponse begin?
I got an interview with Jani (Head of Dev Ops) and Oskar (Head of Customer Success), since I got a recommendation for Skyresponse from a recruiting firm I previously had been in contact with. I did not think much of it, but after I have had a chat with them, I got a good view of what Skyresponse was offering. I saw the potential in getting broader knowledge and what benefits a small and growing company can offer.
What was it with Skyresponse that caught your interest?
The fact that you can specialise and focus on things that are interesting is fun and developing. It makes you want to go to work because everyone matters. You get to work with new and exciting stuff since the platform is evolving all the time.
In what way have Skyresponse impressed you?
The fact that you can call any one of your colleagues at any time of the workday without having to go through a channel of bureaucracy is amazing! Everyone is helpful, and there is a relaxed feeling being at the office where you can focus on your tasks.
What is the key to a good customer relationship?
The key to a good customer relationship is honestness on what we can and cannot deliver. That there is one point of contact if you have any questions about the current approach to the ongoing projects is helpful to get instant feedback from the customer.
What do you contribute to your team?
I do a lot of troubleshooting and testing that can save the developer’s time. I can contribute in my role to take on different requests and questions from partners and customers and get to understand what they really need help with. Even if they ask a specific question there is often an underlying reason to it and there can often be other approaches to solving their needs in other ways what they first had in mind. If my colleagues can feel that they can focus on their work without being disturbed all the time, then I have succeeded in my role.
When you are not working, what do you do?
I am originally from Finland but have lived in Sweden for a couple of years. I visit my hometown many times a year since it is only a 6-hour drive from Luleå. We own a dog that requires a lot of walking (dalmatian), so I get a couple of kilometers of walking exercise each day. I sometimes play video games with my friends, mostly to catch up on what’s new since we all live in different places. I also have a modest collection of old game consoles and games. I like skiing and ice skating. I often swim in the sea, both in the summer and in the winter as soon as ice bathing is possible. I go to the gym 2-3 times a week and go to the sauna as often as possible.
