Skyresponse:system is a cloud hosted service that responds to alarms and other types of events with a secure audit trail showing the alarms were delivered to the right people, machines or system(s). Because the service is cloud based it is available anywhere the internet can be accessed. The dynamic routing of the alarms helps ensure a timely response. The auditable data trail provides proof of how (and when) an event was responded to.
Alarms and Events
Skyresponse:system processes event information from other systems, such as IoT (Internet of Things) platforms that collect data from thousands of sensors, and directly from various alarm transmitters. Alarms are fed via the internet to Skyresponse:system through an open API. Extensive documentation of the API enables third parties to rapidly connect their devices and systems. Use of fixed and mobile internet makes it possible to receive alarms from devices worldwide.
Intelligent Distribution of Alarms
Skyresponse:system can distribute alarm and event information directly to human responders using mobile or other computing devices, to operators in alarm response centers, to Skyresponse:central cloud based alarm centers or to other IT systems such as customer support or patient care systems.
Skyresponse:system distributes alarms and through either the Skyresponse pre-defined API or via existing standard alarm protocols connecting to response centers worldwide over fixed and mobile internet. The recipient systems and responders can be based anywhere there is an internet connection available.
Skyresponse:system analyses all incoming events (type, timing, content and location), and ensures the event reaches the right recipients. How the alarm is handled is based on a set of distribution rules held within Skyresponse:system. For example if an alarm is not responded to by a respondent group member within a set time it will be forwarded to a central staffed alarm response centre. Rules can be set with many combinations – for example different locations for responding to alarms at night. The possibilities are virtually unlimited.
Skyresponse:system needs to know who or what may send alarms, the rules that apply for their management and where the resulting events should be forwarded. The event and alarm data trail must also be made available. To enable access to data and management of the rules, Skyresponse:system offers both a fully documented and open Administrative API (Application Programming Interface) as well as an administrative graphical user interface (Admin GUI) accessible through any web browser. The GUI and API allow access to internal data depending on the credentials of the user or system – and offers a hierarchy of user types for different applications.
Where is the Cloud?
Skyresponse:system is made possible through the use of the cloud. This means that all functions of the system are performed on servers that are located on a number of data centers around the world accessible via the Internet. Skyresponse chose Amazon Web Services, which offer one of the world’s largest and most reliable distributed datacenters.
All functionality and data are duplicated in both the data center and between data centers, which means the highest possible reliability. Through the cloud approach, Skyresponse:system can offer virtually unlimited scalability, because it is easy to add more and more processing and storage capacity in a data center without disturbing the features of Skyresponse:system.
