Interview with Oleg Karmanskiy, Fullstack Developer

Interview

What is your background?
Since my childhood, I always have interest in computers. In my neighborhood I was the first one who got the computer, so I have started to investigate this unknown area in my early age. As the teen, I was attracted to the computer games, therefore, my first IT related job was a game developer for WEB and mobile platforms. After that I have used all the knowledge that I have received and moved myself to the UI development. Either by chance or by someone’s will, my first project was heavily related to the heath care and from that moment I have decided that I should try to stay in that area as long as I can. Probably, I like to help people. 🙂

How did your journey with Skyresponse begin?
I received a message from the HR department with the description of the project and I thought that it would be a great opportunity to try myself in the Sweden company as all my previous clients were from the US. I had a conversation with former UI dev Olga and Marita (DevOps Manager) which inspires me to take this chance here.

In what way has Skyresponse impressed you?
The idea of the project is really awesome. It is great that we can help so many people by creating newer and better solutions for their safety and health.

Describe Skyresponse as a workplace…
Although, the work here can be challenging, the atmosphere is very good here and you can always find someone that can help you if you are struggling. This helps me to grow as a specialist and I always want to improve something here.

What is the key to a good customer relationship?
The clients must be certain that their needs were heard and understanded in a propriate way, the communication must be clear and the response fast. Easy, right? 🙂

What do you contribute to your team?
I like jokes and memes and I often create some for the team, so they can have a relief and some fun.

When you are not working, what do you do?
Most of the time I spend with my family and with my son. We often go somewhere by car, especially some parks or mountains. Also, I like to listen to audiobooks or audio performance, ride on the bike and still, like in the old days, play computer games.
